Some partnerships take months to establish. This one took a week.
In December 2023, Yllw Factory's COO (back then Soeco Kontorsmöbler CEO) and NordAxon CEO began discussing how AI could support the company's mission of making office furniture reuse more efficient and scalable. Just one week after the first phone call between Yllw Factory's leadership and NordAxon's CEO, the partnership agreement was signed.
That speed reflected something both companies shared from the beginning: a pragmatic mindset, a focus on business value, and a desire to move quickly from ideas to implementation.
Since then, the collaboration has continued in the same spirit—efficient, transparent, and focused on solving real business challenges.
As one of Sweden's leading providers of circular office furnishing solutions, Yllw Factory helps organizations extend the life of office furniture through reuse and refurbishment.
A crucial part of that process is inventory management. Before furniture can be reused, it must be identified, documented, and classified—a task that traditionally requires significant manual effort.
To support this workflow, NordAxon developed and implemented AI-powered inventory classification capabilities within Yllw Factory's mobile application and business systems.
Using Machine Learning, Image Embeddings, and Similarity Search trained on Yllw Factory's proprietary image data , the solution automatically identifies and categorizes furniture during inventory work.
The result is a faster, more scalable inventory process that reduces manual effort while improving data quality across operations.
"When inventorying an office, you want furniture to be recognised automatically," says Tor Sjödin, COO at Yllw Factory. "We've built a database where, once a piece of furniture has been identified, future inventories become much faster. That has helped us a lot in our business."
The project extended beyond AI functionality.
Together, the teams modernised key parts of Yllw Factory's digital platform, including frontend and backend systems, offline functionality, QR code integrations, image handling, analytics integrations, and business system connectivity.
Built with scalability, accessibility, and future growth in mind, the solution provides a strong digital foundation for managing large-scale circular furniture operations.
By combining AI-driven automation with modern business systems, Yllw Factory has strengthened its ability to handle growing volumes while supporting a more efficient circular economy.
AI That Solves Real Problems
For Yllw Factory, the value of AI is not found in technology itself—it is found in practical business outcomes.
As companies increasingly explore AI opportunities, Tor believes it is important to distinguish between meaningful solutions and unnecessary complexity.
"The world is full of unnecessary AI solutions today," he says. "The important thing is to focus on what actually creates value."
That philosophy has been a key reason why the partnership has worked so well.
According to Tor, one of NordAxon's greatest strengths is its ability to provide honest advice—not just technical expertise.
"NordAxon is unique because they are a very human company. They genuinely help you with AI services and are also willing to tell you when an idea isn't worth pursuing."
Over the past years, the collaboration has been defined by openness, efficiency, and a shared commitment to creating measurable business value.
What started with a single phone call in December 2023 has grown into a trusted partnership helping Yllw Factory use AI to streamline operations, scale circular processes, and support a more sustainable future.
Because sometimes the best AI solutions aren't about adding complexity—they're about making important work simpler.
