<h2>Challenge</h2><p>Placing wind and solar power plants in the right geographical location requires exploration of available land with the right characteristics. This kind of site selection is typically performed manually with rule-based filtering in GIS (Geographic Information System) data and this task is rather time-consuming.</p><h2>Solution</h2><p>A dump of GIS data was analysed focusing on the pixelated (or gridded) raster/slope data where each pixel is associated with a specific geographical location. With insights from analysed data, we implemented and delivered AI-optimized parameters for more optimal use in the rule-based filtering.</p><h2>Value</h2><p>Analysis and filtering of the GIS-data with AI-optimized parameters instead of rule-based is more efficient, i.e. less time-consuming.</p>
